About Lena

Hi, I’m a violin tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Strings (Violin). I specialize in working with adult beginners and those returning to the violin after time away. My goal is to make learning feel relaxed, clear, and enjoyable—no pressure, just progress. I use simple exercises to build confidence and technique step by step. Ergonomic positioning is a big focus in my lessons, helping students play with comfort and ease. Mindfulness is part of the journey too—staying present can make both practice and performance more rewarding. I enjoy teaching a variety of genres including Folk, Blues, Easy Classical, and Worship music. Lessons are always tailored to your pace, interests, and goals. I believe music should feel like a joy, not a chore. Whether you're picking up the violin for the first time or coming back to it, I’m here to support your journey. Let’s rediscover the beauty of playing—one note at a time.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for violin is built on clear technique, steady progress, and joyful learning. I guide students step by step, starting with posture and how to hold the violin and bow correctly. This strong foundation helps with balance, comfort, and injury-free playing. We then work on bowing control, focusing on smooth strokes, pressure, and direction for beautiful tone and rhythm. Intonation is a big part of my lessons. I use fun ear-training exercises and scales to help students play in tune and build strong listening skills. For tone development, we explore bow speed, placement, and finger pressure to create a warm, expressive sound. I also teach how to shape musical phrases and express emotions through dynamics and articulation. I’m especially good at helping those who love to sing or play in groups bring that same confidence to their violin playing. I create a relaxed, welcoming space where students feel supported no matter their starting point. Whether you're a beginner or returning after a break, I help you enjoy the music while improving your technique. Every lesson is shaped to your pace and passion.
