About Ana B
I’m an English and Portuguese teacher and writer with seven years of experience teaching language and literature at the primary, secondary, and adult levels. I’ve led socio-cultural and literacy projects that encourage creativity, curiosity, and meaningful learning. My background also includes editing academic and literary texts, as well as translating documents between Portuguese and English. I bring literature, culture, and storytelling into my lessons, helping students connect personally with language while developing confidence and critical thinking. Passionate about diverse voices, I draw inspiration from Gothic literature, Afrofuturism, and mythology to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience.

As a tutor, I create dynamic and inclusive lessons that combine language learning with culture, literature, and creativity. I design each session around my students’ goals--whether improving fluency, reading comprehension, or writing skills--using interactive discussions, texts, and personalized feedback. A typical lesson starts with a warm-up activity, followed by guided practice and a creative task such as journal writing or interpreting short literary excerpts. My approach stands out for its cultural depth and for bringing literary perspectives into language learning, helping learners think critically and express themselves confidently. I teach adults and teens at beginner to advanced levels who want to strengthen English for academic, professional, or personal growth.
