About Mahtab

Mahtab Saadatmand began her musical journey at age 8 with the violin, later discovering her true passion for the cello. This path led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music in Iran and pursue a Master of Music in Cello Performance at the University of Victoria in Canada. She has performed with numerous orchestras, chamber groups, and recording projects, and also has experience teaching music theory and composing for short films and documentaries. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Mahtab enjoys working with students from all backgrounds and levels. She currently teaches private cello students and coaches string chamber groups in Canada, helping each musician grow with confidence, technique, and musicality.

About the lesson

Learning a new instrument should feel inspiring, not overwhelming. Many students start with excitement, but without the right support and a clear path, progress can feel frustrating. That’s where a good teacher makes all the difference. As a master’s-trained cellist with years of experience teaching all ages and levels, I know how to quickly identify what each student needs to succeed. My lessons are personalized, motivating, and structured, with a focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping the process fun and rewarding. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, I’ll help you grow with confidence and enjoy every step of the journey.

My daughter had such a great experience taking cello lessons with her we were truly worried about how she would like these lessons but not only is she a phenomenal musician, but also an incredible instructor who knows how to connect with kids and make learning fun and engaging. The kids absolutely love her classes, and you can really see the passion and dedication she brings to teaching. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and supportive cello teacher. Instructors and local musicians like her are very hard to find especially for kids. She’s a gem and my wife and are extremely happy with her.
