About Christina
As a Master’s-level early childhood educator with 8 years of classroom experience, I bring both expertise and energy to every tutoring session. I’m bubbly and fun, turning learning into games, movement, and hands-on activities, but I also meet children exactly where they are, offering calmer, more focused sessions when needed. My goal is to build confidence in every child, helping them feel proud of their progress and reducing stress around learning. I create a positive, supportive environment where students can explore, ask questions, and discover new skills, while keeping parents informed and involved so learning continues at home.

My tutoring approach is rooted in clarity, patience, understanding, and hands-on learning. I believe children learn best when concepts feel fun, accessible, and meaningful, so I break down every skill into small, understandable steps and use real-life examples to help learning “click.” I adapt my methods to each child’s learning style (visual, verbal, kinesthetic, or a mix) so every session feels personalized and supportive.
Some of my teaching methods & techniques are described below:
- Play-based and hands-on instruction to build natural curiosity and understanding.
- Scaffolded learning, where each new skill builds on the last for steady confidence.
- Multi-sensory activities (visuals, manipulatives, drawing, movement) to strengthen comprehension.
- Positive reinforcement and mindset support to help students feel proud and motivated.
- Real-world examples to make STEM concepts less intimidating and more relatable.
- Clear explanations with patience, repetition, and rephrasing until your child truly gets it.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Warm-Up: Quick review of last session and a fun skill-builder to activate the brain.
Target Skill Practice: Focused instruction using age-appropriate, hands-on activities tailored to your child’s needs and learning style.
Application & Games: We apply the skill through games, problem-solving, STEM challenges, or literacy/number play.
Review & Reflection: We check for understanding, celebrate wins, and plan next steps so progress is consistent and noticeable.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my ability to blend real early-childhood expertise with a warm, patient teaching style that makes learning feel safe, fun, and genuinely understandable. I meet each child exactly where they are, helping even the most easily distracted or hesitant learners stay engaged and confident. My focus is always on building true understanding—not quick memorization—so the skills your child learns actually stick and grow over time. I also keep families fully in the loop with clear, consistent communication about progress and simple ways to continue supporting learning at home, creating a true partnership centered on your child’s success.
My lessons are designed for a range of young learners, from preschool and Pre-K students (ages 3–5) who are developing early literacy, early math, foundational STEM skills, school readiness, and focus-building abilities, to Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students who need support with reading, writing, math concepts, number sense, hands-on STEM learning, and comprehension. I also work with children who need extra support with attention, processing, or confidence, as well as families preparing their child for school, gifted assessments, or strengthening foundational skills. Each lesson is tailored to meet the unique needs of your child, ensuring they gain both knowledge and confidence as they learn.
