About Lap Xuan
I am Pham Thi Lap Xuan, a qualified Mathematics teacher based in Vietnam. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from VNU University of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from Hanoi National University of Education, where I specialized in teaching Mathematics in English. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Teacher Education and an IELTS Academic score of 6.5.
I have six years of school-based teaching experience and approximately three years of online tutoring experience. My strongest experience is helping primary and lower secondary students understand Mathematics in English. I have taught in school and one-to-one online settings, adapting my explanations to each student’s age, confidence and learning gaps.
I became a teacher because I enjoy the moment when a student moves from “I can’t do this” to explaining a solution in their own words. I aim to make Math clear, encouraging and accessible while helping students become more independent learners.

I offer online Math lessons in English for primary and lower secondary students. My lessons begin by finding out what a student already understands and where they feel stuck. I then explain the concept in manageable steps using visual examples, a digital whiteboard and guided questions. Students practice, talk through their reasoning and learn from mistakes rather than simply memorizing a method.
I can help with arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, introductory algebra, geometry and word problems. I adapt the pace and practice to each student’s needs and share clear feedback with parents about progress and next steps. Lessons can support schoolwork, strengthen foundations or build confidence in solving unfamiliar problems.
