I am an experienced tutor in English and have worked as Tutor Experience Lead, managing hundreds of tutors, at the Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative (now Tutor the Nation). I like to prepare students for their English studies by going above and beyond their normal curricula and introducing them to concepts, ideas and methodologies that will stand them in good stead for further study; be it at GCSE, sixth form/college level, or at university. I aim to find ways of studying literature that will appeal to the tastes and enthusiasms of each individual student, ensuring that each lesson is as much an enjoyable experience of literary art as it is a rigorous study in preparation for exams or school work. I have also worked as a professional actor and drama teacher, so I have a particular interest in literary drama and can assist with drama studies across all secondary school levels. I am also keen to help students build strong university applications, particularly for competitive English courses at institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.
