About Joanne

Hello! My name is Joanne, and I am a Sheridan College nursing student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed. I achieved a 94% in Nursing Math and 91% in English, ESL, and Advanced Functions, and I enjoy making learning more understandable and less overwhelming for students.

My tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student’s learning style and goals. I believe every student can improve with clear explanations, encouragement, and consistent practice. During lessons, I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps, provide guided examples, and help students build confidence through active learning and problem-solving.

Whether you need support understanding class material, preparing for tests, improving grades, or building stronger study habits, I am committed to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to help them become more confident and independent learners. I look forward to supporting your learning journey!

About the lesson

As a tutor, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I focus on simplifying difficult concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations and adapting my teaching style based on each student’s learning needs and pace.

My teaching methodology includes:

* Breaking concepts into smaller and easier-to-understand steps
* Using examples and guided practice to strengthen understanding
* Encouraging students to explain concepts back to develop confidence
* Reviewing mistakes and turning them into learning opportunities
* Providing tips and strategies for tests, assignments, and problem-solving

A typical lesson includes:

1. Brief review of previous concepts or challenges
2. Explanation of new topics using examples
3. Guided practice together
4. Independent practice with feedback
5. Summary and goal setting for the next session

What sets me apart is my strong academic background and patient teaching style. As a Sheridan College nursing student with a 94% in Nursing Math and 91% in English and Advanced Functions, I understand the challenges students face and focus on making learning approachable, organized, and less stressful.

My lessons are suitable for:

* Elementary and high school students
* Students needing support in English, ESL, mathematics, and advanced functions
* Students looking to improve grades, confidence, study habits, and understanding of course material
