About Joanne
Hello! My name is Joanne, and I am a Sheridan College nursing student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed. I achieved a 94% in Nursing Math and 91% in English, ESL, and Advanced Functions, and I enjoy making learning more understandable and less overwhelming for students.
My tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student’s learning style and goals. I believe every student can improve with clear explanations, encouragement, and consistent practice. During lessons, I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps, provide guided examples, and help students build confidence through active learning and problem-solving.
Whether you need support understanding class material, preparing for tests, improving grades, or building stronger study habits, I am committed to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to help them become more confident and independent learners. I look forward to supporting your learning journey!

As a tutor, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I focus on simplifying difficult concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations and adapting my teaching style based on each student’s learning needs and pace.
My teaching methodology includes:
* Breaking concepts into smaller and easier-to-understand steps
* Using examples and guided practice to strengthen understanding
* Encouraging students to explain concepts back to develop confidence
* Reviewing mistakes and turning them into learning opportunities
* Providing tips and strategies for tests, assignments, and problem-solving
A typical lesson includes:
