About Ali
I graduated this year from the University of Waterloo with a degree in pure mathematics, with highest honours. I've also taken first-year university courses in physics and chemistry, although mathematics is my specialty. I also held a Teacher's Assistant position during undergrad.

My approach to teaching is to begin with a concrete problem. Then, I work with my student to develop an intuition around how we might solve that problem, and see if broader patterns emerge from our solution. For example, trigonometry is fundamentally about how we can extend incomplete geometric information about triangles, and deserves to be taught like a puzzle.
