About Min
My name is Min (they/them) and I am currently finishing my double honours in mathematics and psychology at the University of Waterloo. I am planning on starting in a master's program in mathematics education. I have been working as a math tutor for 7 years and I have experience in teaching a large group (20-150 people) both in-person and online. Outside of school, I work as a harm-reduction worker at a local homeless shelter. I am also a classical musician: playing the piano and the viola.
I am a passionate teacher and also an active learner.

When I am with a student 1-1, I always try to find the sweet-spot where each student can learn and grow mathematically. I adjust my teaching style after closely observing each student's needs. I usually teach students aged 11 to college/university students but I also have some experience of teaching elementary school students with additional learning challenges like ADHD.
I worked at the math circles (math enrichment program for middle/high school students) of the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing, CEMC-University of Waterloo, and I occasionally mark their written math competitions. I am now actively doing some math education research in the academia. My background in psychology (especially in cognitive/developmental psychology) adds values to my teaching!
