About Maria
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated mathematics tutor with experience in tutoring students at the GCSE level. I am looking to take on students in Mathematics and non-verbal reasoning. I recently received a distinction in my master’s degree in Mathematics from Oxford University and am currently completing a PhD in Mathematical Modelling and Cancer Research in Barcelona. While at Oxford, I worked as an outreach ambassador and volunteered with school students with additional needs, which enhanced my ability to connect with diverse learners. My logical thinking and problem-solving skills enable me to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, making learning accessible and engaging for my students.

My lessons focus on deepening a student's understanding of the subject they are studying. I think this is best achieved by working through examples and developing 'recipes' to recreate the dish and solve similar problems. I like to focus on making my lessons interactive and ensuring I am setting specific goals with my students.
