About Amrita

Teaching Math for more than twelve years has shown me that emotional support is just as important as academic instruction. Many students come to Math feeling discouraged, so I create a warm environment where questions are welcome and progress—no matter how small—is celebrated. This helps learners feel safe exploring new ideas without fear of judgment. I enjoy discovering how each student learns best. Some respond strongly to visual models, others to step-by-step repetition, and some to gentle guided practice. Adapting my approach helps students build confidence steadily, allowing them to trust their own reasoning and celebrate each breakthrough moment. Outside tutoring, I continue studying mathematical methods, teaching strategies, and practical applications so I can bring fresh insight into each lesson. Watching students transform their mindset—from uncertainty to confidence—is deeply meaningful to me, and I’m committed to supporting them with patience, clarity, and encouragement throughout their learning journey.

About the lesson

My Maths lessons draw from a blend of geometry, algebra, elementary school math, and SAT math—woven naturally based on each student’s needs. We begin by strengthening essential foundations such as number sense, flexible arithmetic strategies, and recognizing patterns. These early supports make it easier to approach concepts that build on one another, creating a sense of comfort and confidence.

As we move forward, I introduce algebraic reasoning, geometric interpretation, and problem-solving strategies that help students understand how ideas connect. For example, we might explore how geometric diagrams support algebraic equations, or how elementary arithmetic confidence leads to better results on SAT-style word problems. I use clear, calm explanations to help students see the logic behind each concept.

In later lessons, we work on multi-step reasoning, strategy choice, and applying skills to more challenging questions. SAT math sessions often introduce pacing methods and pattern recognition, while other lessons emphasize visualizing shapes, analyzing relationships, or breaking down algebraic expressions. My goal is to make Maths feel structured, supportive, and genuinely achievable.
