About Katie
Aside from my education and life experiences, you should know that I love animals and will never object to a quick online or in-person visit with your pet! I currently own two bunnies and one chicken, and I am happy to share these furry and feathered faces with you. I am also married, have raised two successful adult daughters, and have mentored two students in an informal homestay experience. I am a culturally-aware individual with anti-racism training. I love to travel, hike, read, and enjoy learning from others. I maintain a current, clear police check.

Understanding the client's educational requirements is an important first step to preparing a unique learning plan.
The second step is working toward relationship building in order to establish trust and rapport. My varied experience engaging children from the classroom to summer camp allows me to quickly find a common denominator.
My teaching methodology begins with researching and understanding the curriculum the person is working with, and the subject's learning outcomes.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that not only do I listen to the parents' concerns, but I also engage the child in conversation to purposely encourage dialogue and have them articulate their own needs.
