About Florin
I am a finance professional with more than 10 years experience in the private sector. After completing a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Minor in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, I worked for 7 years in the retirement consulting industry as an Actuarial Analyst/Consultant. I then pursued an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Following the MBA I worked in Sales & Trading and more recently pursued an entrepreneurial endeavor in real estate. I have done tutoring for Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, English as a Second Language and Toefl since my early college years. After passing GMAT with a score of 740 / 97% (Verbal: 40 / 91%, Quantitative: 50 / 88%) in 2015, I have mostly focused on tutoring for GMAT/GRE test prep.

My teaching is highly individualized and based entirely on my students' needs. I work hard to learn exactly what obstacles a particular student faces and then use every ounce of resource and creativity to fins the most efficient way of conveying the right information. I'm very structured in my approach and I do push my students consistently to become the best version of themselves. I never make empty promises and I always give honest feedback. I teach quant, grammar and analytical skills that are fundamental to understanding what the test is all about. I also put considerable emphasis on time management skills and working under pressure. Most importantly and Lesson #1: my students do absolutely all the hard work themselves, I only guide them to get the most out of their time and get the best score possible.
