About Haitham

As someone who has both tutored and done tutoring i understand the value and importance of it within education.
Tutoring helped me through formal examinations in both primary and secondary school by allowing me to have one one one conversations and advice on what i found difficult.

Compare this to my experiences in school being a massive daydreamer who struggled hugely to focus on lessons and stay on track. The difference in my wellbeing and grades before and after tutoring was night and day.

When I moved to the UK I had 11+ examinations in 3 months. I was lucky enough to have private tutoring which made the difference between succeeding in those exams or failing before they even began. I recall sitting down every week and going through questions after questions along with (plenty) of homework but in the end it paid off thanks to my tutors expertise and patience.

I took her methods of teaching with me into my first tutoring job and whether it was helping year 2s with their times tables or helping year 11s prepare for daunting english language exams It was incredibly satisfying to see that i could make a difference in other peoples academic performance the same way my previous tutors did for me as a schoolboy.

I look forward to continuing to help students achieve their school ambitions at all levels.

About the lesson

I have a level 9 in the following GCSE subjects: Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Religious studies
Also have a level 8 in english literature and a level 7 in english language
Studied 3 foreign languages at gcse : Level 8 in spanish,
Level 7 in both chinese and arabic
Level 8 in gcse computer science

I currently do the IB and study Biology, Chemistry and Geography at a higher level as well as English, Spanish and Maths at standard level.

I teach lessons online and adapt my style of teaching based on the needs of the student as i am a strong believer that different techniques of studying and learning can work for different people. Previously i have taught using resources such as past papers, tutoring website questions, whiteboards etc.

Typically my lessons last between 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on method of teaching used.

I have a years worth of experience teaching in-person taking advantage of online resources for both english and maths from KS1 to GCSE. In that time period i have come across many different types of student whether its those who consistently rank near top of their class and do tutoring to maintain a high grade or people who may be a year behind the rest of their cohort and are in need of support to catch up. Whatever the academic need i am always here to support my students with whatever techniques and strategies suit them.
