About Dalal
Hello, my name is Dalal :) I am a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto, completing both my MD and MSc (Master of Science). I did my undergraduate degree also at the University of Toronto, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, highest distinction. I've been through many stages in my academic journey and feel extremely confident in the material to help you with your needs. I have been a tutor for over 10 years, mostly tutoring biology for grade 11/12 students. Although, I am also very well equipped to tutor in psychology, anatomy/physiology, and genetics. I believe with all of my past experiences I understand not only the material, but also how to succeed in applying the material to achieve your best on your assessments. My tutoring style is personalized, structured, and supportive. I start by identifying each student’s strengths and challenges, then break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I emphasize active learning (asking guiding questions, using examples, and encouraging students to explain ideas back to me), so that knowledge sticks long-term rather than just for a test.
Typical Lesson Plan
1. Quick check-in to review last week’s material and answer any lingering questions.
2. Clear explanation of today’s focus topic, broken into digestible sections.
3. Guided practice, working together to solve example homework questions
