About Emily D

I am a current 3rd year medical student at Western University. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology from which I graduated with high honors. I have tutored at the undergraduate level for 4 years and have tutored everyone from kids to high school students for many years before that. I also tutor for the MCAT, the medical school admissions exam.

I have experience in clinical medicine, research and have received scholarships from my medical school for my academic achievements in med school. I have presented on medical school admissions at private schools in Toronto and have presented at multiple medical conferences.

I am married so I love to spend time with my husband. I also love to run and read!

About the lesson

My approach involves taking the confusion out of big academic language and explaining concepts in easy-to-grasp ways. I will teach you strategies that will allow you to use knowledge instead of just memorize words! I will help you understand how concepts work together and I have a creative approach to understanding your specific needs.

I have been a tutor for many years and have had to adapt to A students and D students alike. I believe my job is to learn how you learn, and to create explanations and strategies that suit your learning style. I myself am a medical student who has had to adapt and adjust my own learning many times, and I often tell people that I am not yet a professional doctor but I am a professional learner at this point!
