Methodology

I find what a student knows, and focus on enhancing their particular skills while adding new challenges. Most come to me with rudimentary skills which I try to polish based on the precise areas of focus: left-hand technique, right-hand shapes, and fretboard knowledge. A student seeking to learn rhythm accompaniment will be focusing on chording, and a student wishing to play lead will learn scales and arpeggios.

Background

I have played guitar since I was nine, and currently play lead/rhythm and b/u vocals for a local classic rock band. While I play electric in the Doug James Band, I also enjoy acoustic around the campfire, with a background filled with folk and country tunes.
