About Lia

Hi am Lia! I'm from Alberta Canada but grew up in the United Kingdom. I love challenging myself to learn something new. After obtaining my BSc. in Microbiology I challenged myself to complete the Loch Ness Marathon. After this I took up sprint and marathon kayaking and competed in several events all around Scotland and the UK, bringing home 1st and 2nd place, this led me to becoming a kayak coach. A few years later I knew I wanted to pursue my passion for helping people learn, that is when I enrolled with the International Sport Science Association to obtain my qualifications as a Certified Personal and Group Trainer and Nutritionist along with my level 5 TEFL diploma. A short while later I started teaching STEM to children while teaching adults the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle. I love the fact that my lifestyle leaves me open to experience new things and help others. With my experience and education and your desire to learn, together we can build your confidence in science, math, or English as a second language. I am looking forward to speaking to you soon!

About the lesson

Learning has many different styles as does teaching. It is important to me to provide a fun and engaging environment where you can learn without the fear of making a mistake. Mistakes are how we learn.

I believe in a student based learning approach where we develop and improve on what you do know, using your strengths to overcome your weaknesses.

I will take the time to talk you through each and every step to set you up for success for the times you need to do it on your own.
