About Miki

For 6 years, I have been giving group lessons in Laval through an association.
I have between 10 and 15 students each year in my classes.
Most of my students want to learn to _speak_ and _understand_ Japanese orally, but I also teach kana and kanji for those who want to.

About the lesson

My name is Miki, I am a native Japanese from the Touhoku region (north of the island of Honshu). I have been living in France since 2011.

My classes are generally divided into a main part focused on theoretical (vocabulary, grammar/conjugation, etc.) and practical learning (oral expression, writing kana, even kanji, etc.), and end with a moment of discovery of Japanese culture and answers to students' questions (linguistic or cultural).

Obviously, the content of each private lesson primarily depends on what the student wants and needs to learn anyway.

I mainly (but not only) use the textbook "Minna no Nihongo" (meaning "Japanese for Everybody") to structure my lessons. This is the most used textbook in Japan itself, to teach the language to foreigners.

I teach my classes between 10:00 and 18:00 every day (including Saturdays). Outside of these hours, arrangements are always possible if this is more convenient for some people – note however that a €5 charge may then applied.

I give lessons both individual, at a price of €25 (€30 for an "individual" lesson for 2 people, in case of a couple, or brothers/sisters willing to study together for instance), and group lessons from €14 per person (with a maximum of 4 people).

Remote learning via video is also possible.
