About Richie

Hi, my name is Richie. I am currently a Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honors) student at Monash University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA with an 86 WAM.

I achieved these results without burning out by learning how to break complex scientific concepts into clear, logical frameworks. This structured approach is exactly what I bring into my tutoring sessions.

I have taught VCE Biology and Chemistry (Year 11 and 12) both privately and at the largest tutoring centers in Melbourne: Excel Academics, Apex Tuition, and Pegasus Tuition. Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of the VCAA study design, common student pitfalls, and effective exam strategies. My background in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences allows me to explain topics such as genetics, immunity and molecular biology with depth and clarity.

In high school, I was a scholarship awardee and student council member and actively involved in organizational and volunteer activities, which strengthened my leadership and communication skills.

Outside academics, I enjoy reading, watching films and swimming. I believe academic success should be disciplined, structured and sustainable.

Are you aiming to truly understand VCE Biology and Chemistry rather than just memorise it?

As a Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) student at Monash University with a 4.0 GPA (86 WAM), I have been tutoring VCE Biology Year 11 and Year 12 students and helping them build strong conceptual foundations, exam skills, and scientific thinking.

My teaching approach focuses on deep understanding, not rote memorisation. Many students rely heavily on practice questions without fully grasping the biological mechanisms behind them. In our sessions, I break down complex topics such as genetics, immunity, cellular processes, and molecular biology into clear, logical frameworks that are easier to remember and apply under exam conditions.

Lessons typically run for 60 minutes and are structured around:

1. Clarifying difficult concepts

2. Strengthening exam-style responses

3. Analysing VCAA question patterns

4. Improving scientific terminology and precision

I tailor each session to the student’s level, whether they are in Year 11 building foundations or in Year 12 preparing for high study scores. My goal is to help students think like scientists, not just repeat definitions.
