About Melanie

The key to educational success is self-belief and confidence. This I endeavour to instil in my students in their learning and their ability to achieve. I am pleased to say that pupils move up between sets at school, achieve two grades higher at GCSE level and all Entrance exam students have been offered places (including those aiming for the most prestigious of UK schools). I like to think that I am approachable and can take a creative approach to learning, where appropriate, whilst encouraging students to aim for their potential. I feel particularly rewarded when those who find learning more of a challenge begin to find a renewed confidence, turning that into significant strides in their capabilities.

About the lesson

Lessons for all age groups are a maximum of one hour. Care is taken to prepare lessons to suit the individual needs and pace. I will break the sessions down into starter activities, main teaching points and practice elements. I have degrees in Education (teaching) and English. Graduating from the Universities of Bath (BA) and Cambridge (PGCE), (MEd). As well as previous classroom teaching practice I have successfully offered 1:1 tutoring for over 10 years.
