About Athen Smith Academy

Athen Smith Academy, grounded on the traditional principles of Civil Service, Selfless Devotion, and standing for Education as the liberating foundation of all great minds.

As a beacon, or by the greek pharos; we strive for those who understand that discipline, effort and attrition yield the sweetest fruits, that which, standing of all fruits, are education and intelligence. A fruit best shared with others.

Inspired by Sir Thomas Smith, a great Tutor, Statesman and Educator, and the Most High-Honored Greek Goddess of Wisdom of Athena, our recluse academy admits only the finest students, those who can balance the responsibility of fine knowledge with the responsibility that comes with it.

Upon Sir Thomas Smith, born in Saffron Walden, in Essex England. Chosen as a principle figure in the design of our academy, his life was one of limitless potential. A learned Alchemist in Distillation, Diplomat and Parliamentarian, a Greek scholar and Theologist, Linguist and Astronomer, he not only served the Crown and enlightened the state, but contributed heavily to science and personally attested to education unbound.
To bridge Arts, Sciences, Nature and Diplomacy stands as a fundamental branch of our Academia's structure; as Sir Thomas Smith reminds us that one can always aspire to do more than what's necessary and the heights of what the trained mind can accomplish.

Athena, of the Greek Gods and Goddesses, is a more obtuse figure, though not less intricate the Storied Knight mentioned above.
Athena embodies in the most sacred sense the core of all civilization.

Without the feminine intellect and the intuition, the shake and spears of any velveted moment is but a quagmire which countless sages across time expounded her cause upon, uphold her principle nature: Knowledge and Wisdom is the root of all goodness and of virtue, deftly defeating the ignorance by which transparent problems emerge.

The ignition of these two core philosophies, like swans curling together, over the oceans of education available to us, we stand as a confident and inimitable Academy focused to creating the finest minds, and strongest individuals to carry our Canada forward.

We embrace a tried and true tradition of notable texts, foundational paths of erudition; focusing on building character through education. The exclusive Mentor-to-Pupil classes will follow:

In the courses available, by a meticulous preparation and assessment of their thought base, students will undergo testing and build upon principles through scholarly disciplines such as:
English, Geography, History, and Civics, to also couple focused work on Writing Effectiveness and fine Vocabulary, Building a Fondness for Reading, Rhetoric, embracing Conversation as an Art and Personal Habit and Comportment Refinement.

With the curriculum and constant attention administered, you will not only be raising a child attending school, but someone who sees their life as a share in contributions to society, who by an intellectual basis is grounded in confidence and unwittingly stands fit as a natural Leader.

- The Aequitaine Lectorate:

A Complete English Discipline and Rhetoric, not limited to Poetry, Writing, Literature, Comparative Reading, Analysis, and Essays. Younger students will learn the merits of proper writing and reading while Older pupils will undergo connecting principles, schools of thought and advanced texts from the finest Houses of Literature.

- The Pennyroyal Primer:

A premier offering through Athen Burton Academy. Dedicated to those aged Fifteen and Younger, its dedication to grounding and introducing the world of reading, writing, and exploration of the undiscovered treasures of literacy.
As your child learns to link their own curiosity and ideas about the greater world, they will be like Tintin in the Orient Jungles discovering rare plots and examining interesting foundations. For as W.B Yeats once said 'Through Imagination we Live' and the Pennyroyal Primer, will suit perfectly a bright young mind with endless avenue in their endeavors.

- History and Veritas:

History of all periods, meticulously granted by its multiple dynamics, can be grasped by all ages. By examining our Nation's history, learning of other key centuries and interesting countries and their many personages along time's table, the many stories and lessons to be extracted from therein will be core to their instruction and development.

- The Mundus Scholarium:

Geography and Biology, understanding weather, biology, ecosystems, how to read and construct maps, looking at different regions, and connecting these with sophistication to the greater whole of state and society.

- Officiis and Civil Dugnad:

Political Science, Civics and Ethics. Looking at the formation of Laws, how they affect the functions of civilization, how nations are built and what differs between the various branches of Law. The perfect suture to ensure your student is ahead of all others before their Degree is even begun.
Available as well to our starling and sterling younger generation of students. By learning of great leaders of the past, and endowing their interests with them, the child will be energized by the legacies those leaders before us nobly left behind.
