About Jan
I am a dedicated Drum tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching college students who want to improve rhythm, coordination, and musical confidence. My main goal is to help students understand drums clearly and enjoy learning while making steady progress. My teaching style is creative, structured, and supportive.
I believe good drumming comes from strong rhythm control and musical awareness. I explain each concept in simple steps and guide students through focused practice. I use innovative teaching methods such as groove layering, tempo consistency drills, and limb coordination exercises. I also include play-along tracks and real-song practice so students can apply their skills in real music situations.
Accountability is an important part of my lessons. I help students build daily practice routines and set achievable goals. Regular feedback and progress tracking keep students motivated and disciplined. Along with drum techniques, I also teach rhythm reading, basic music theory, beat structure, and performance confidence. My lessons are interactive, encouraging, and focused on long-term growth.

My drum teaching approach is structured, creative, and student-friendly. I believe that learning drums should be enjoyable while also developing strong rhythm and coordination. Each lesson is planned based on the student’s level, goals, and learning pace.
Creativity is encouraged through groove building, rhythm variation, and simple improvisation. Students learn to create their own beats and fills, which helps them develop confidence and musical expression. I also use songs and play-along tracks to make lessons practical.
As a critical thinker and mentor, I help students understand rhythm clearly. Timing, coordination, and technique are explained step by step in simple language. Students are encouraged to think about what they play and improve independently.
Accountability is maintained through clear practice goals and regular progress reviews. I provide structured practice routines and guide students to stay consistent and disciplined.
Along with drums, I also teach basic music theory, rhythm reading, tempo control, and performance basics. My goal is to help students become confident, creative, and responsible drummers.
