Master Finance with José Francisco!

My name is José Francisco Verdugo, and I hold an M.S. in Financial Engineering and a B.S. in Economics from UAI. My passion is teaching and helping you "connect the dots" in a clear and straightforward way.

During my university years, I served as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for several courses, which allowed me to develop and apply my own method for explaining complex topics in a simple, direct, and accessible manner.

I have extensive experience teaching Corporate Finance, Capital Budgeting/Project Evaluation, Capital Markets, Financial Management, Management Control, Fixed Income, Equities, Trading, and Advanced Financial Derivatives.

I am patient, approachable, and I love seeing my students truly understand the material. If you are looking for more than just a passing grade—if you want to master the theory through clear explanations—it would be my pleasure to help you reach your goals!

About the lesson

As a holder of a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in Financial Engineering, I know these subjects can often feel like an overwhelming pile of theories and complex formulas to memorize... My goal isn't to have you learn concepts by "rote memory." Instead, I focus on active learning so you can adapt and tackle any problem on your exam. Imagine understanding the logic behind every single number and facing any case study with complete confidence!

What areas can we work on?

Finance I & II: Financial Mathematics, Bonds (YTM), Equities/Stocks (Gordon Growth Model/Multiples), and Capital Budgeting / Project Evaluation (NPV, IRR, PI).

Advanced Finance (MSF/CFA): Martingale Valuation, Complex Derivatives, Portfolio Optimization, and Dynamic Asset Allocation.

Quantitative Modeling: Volatility Forecasting (GARCH, ARIMA), Stochastic Processes, and Monte Carlo Simulations.

Tools: Proficiency in Financial Excel, Python, R, STATA, or Matlab, tailored to your specific needs.

I adapt completely to your pace and academic background, ensuring that every session is a productive, safe, and judgment-free study space. Here, there are no "stupid questions!" My ultimate goal is for you to face your academic challenges with the confidence of someone who has truly mastered the material.
