About Simon

Learning music production is incredibly empowering and creative. If you feel you are a relative beginner, there is a lot to learn so hold on for an exciting journey. If you are intermediate already, we can go deeper into theory, using essential tools such as EQ, compression, reverb, sampling etc, and getting creative with various interesting plug-ins and with arrangement and mixing. Having worked with many singer-songwriters, bands and choirs as well as music production companies and libraries requesting music to specific briefs, I have a broad spectrum of experience in different genres. Let's work with styles of music that you are particularly interested in.

About the lesson

Let's aim to get you to a finished track / song / piece of music that you can be proud of (and post on your socials if that's your thing), then go from there! We can hit the ground running at whatever level you feel you are at. Let's take what you know and build on it, whether you've done some singing, learning an instrument, music theory or some music production already. I have over 15 years' experience in music recording and production, composing background music for video productions, mixing and live sound engineering. My lessons are based around Logic Pro 11. Length of a lesson can be 1-3 hours per week or per fortnight. Any age from secondary school upwards is fine. Minimum requirements: a computer able to handle Logic Pro 10 or 11, an audio interface and some closed or open back headphones, a microphone and a midi keyboard. Looking forward to meeting you :)
