About Thiago
I am a multi-award winner guitarist, a specialist in the fields of guitar and technology, and I have
been teaching for more than 20 years.
I have a deep passion for teaching, and I am always learning something new, completing
courses to update and further develop my skills. I have been teaching online since 2007,
and I create online courses for companies in the USA and Sweden.
Teaching experience: I worked as a teacher in Brazil and Iceland for eight years and the last seven years in Sweden before moving to the UK.
I instruct individuals and groups
from beginners to advanced students in a variety of styles, including rock, pop, funk, soul, Prog Rock, Progressive Metal, Heavy Metal, Neo-Classic Metal, Brazilian Jazz, Bossa
Nova, Choro, Afoxé, Baião, jazz and blues.
My job responsibilities include preparing course materials such as syllabi and exams in
order to assess individual student learning.
Online work experience: Supplementing my in- person teaching, I have been
teaching online since 2007. I created two programs for guitar and technology for a
university in Sweden, and I teach on their online platform. I developed courses for guitarmasterclass.net, Folk Universitetet in Sweden and in 2019, I received the title
“Teacher of the Year” from Lessonface, one of the most prominent online educational
institutions in New York - USA.
To maximise student learning, I create web content and implement procedures
and techniques to assess the results of my instruction and constantly improve my
courses.
Musical experience: I have a Master’s degree in Orchestration and Composition for
films, games and TV from Chichester University in the UK. During the summer, I tour the
USA( NY, FL and LA), South America and Europe with guitar clinics, masterclasses and
lecture groups about guitar & technology, performance and technique studies.
I have been named one of the top three best guitarists through international guitar
competitions around the globe ( 172 countries competing), and I am sponsored by some
of the top brands in the market as an artist.
I performed at the Ziua Guitar Festival in Bucharest - Romania, with some of the greatest
names in the guitar world such as Greg Howe, Andy Timmons, Brett Garsed, Michael
Angelo Batio and William Stravato.
I took part in a great project called Guitar Wizards by Versailles Records. I was one of
the guitarists in the project having Garry King on Drums (Jeff Beck, Joe Lynn Turner),
Mike Lepond (bassist of Symphony X) and Sergey Boykov on the Keys (Vital Science) on
my team.
Versailles Records “Guitar Wizards” collection brought many of the top guitarists on
board for the project at the time, including solos from Damon Johnson (Brother Kane,
Thin Lizzy), Jake E Lee (Ozzy Osbourne Band, Badlands), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper Band,
Ratt, LA Guns, Slash’s Snakepit), Jimmy Crespo (Aerosmith), Bernie Marsden
(Whitesnake). Blues Saraceno (Poison), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), Gilby Clarke
(Guns N Roses, Heart, MC5), Ira Black (Metal Church, Lizzy Borden) on a track that also
features Chris Slade (AC/DC), and Chris Poland (Megadeth), Glen Alvelais (Testament),
and Jan Hammer (Miami Vice Theme Writer).
Considering the skills I have developed, I would be an excellent candidate
for the position. I am self-motivated and team-oriented, and I learn quickly. Balancing
my musical work with my online and in-person work has taught me to be well-organised
and reliable.
