About Claire
I started learning the violin at the age of three, and have been playing since then. I have performed with ensembles such as the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, the Regina Chamber Strings, the University of Victoria Orchestra, and the Brampton Rose Orchestra. I hold a BMus in Musicology and Sound Studies from UVic, and have attended the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute. In addition to the violin, I play the viola, baroque violin, and piano.

Whether you are an absolute beginner who has never touched an instrument before, or a violinist with several years of experience, I am excited to work with you! In my lessons I focus on not only technique, but music history, theory and musical expression to create well-rounded students. You will learn the violin using not only the music of famous composers, but also by incorporating marginalized composers who have been left out of history.
