About David

I have worked in emergency services since 1998. I initially spent 6 years as a police officer, before retraining as an EMT and ultimately gaining paramedic licensure. As a paramedic, the bulk of my experience was gained through emergency response with a busy 911 ambulance service, but I also have experience working in convalescent care, also in the pre-hospital setting. In the classroom, I have helped train EMT students, and in the field I have served as a preceptor for EMT and paramedic clinical rotations, and also a facilitator of paramedic field internships.

I am proud to say that I have watched some of my students become phenomenal EMT's and paramedics, and I am blessed to have been a small part of their amazing journeys.

I have also worked as a BLS, ACLS and ITLS instructor, training not only EMT's and paramedics, but also nurses in various settings as they seek to either initially certify, or re-certify. My primary area of interest has always been cardiology, which has been described as my strongest area as a paramedic.

For my service, I have received multiple commendations, public service awards, and even the occasional medal or two.

I believe in, and insist upon, the highest of standards for all public servants. As first responders, we do not rise to the occasion; instead, we fall to the level of our training. Only by insisting on the highest of standards in training can we ensure our service to the public is exceptional. About the lesson

My aim as your tutor is to supplement your main EMT or Paramedic education. Paramedic school in particular is difficult, with many competent students struggling with 12 lead interpretation, pharmacology, and other things.

In your first lesson, we'll discuss your aims and identify any specific areas on which you need or want to focus.

I'll then put together a structured but dynamic learning plan aimed at giving you the best possible chance of passing your exams, including the infamous national registry exam.

My lessons are dynamic in the sense that they respond and adapt to your questions and any challenges you face, but structured in the sense that we will work towards key goals to progress your understanding and awareness of the essential knowledge required of a professional first responder.
