About Ran
I am a 2015 UCSD graduate specialized in international politics with a focus on China. Experienced in policy research and analysis, bilingual academic and literary writing, translation and data interpretation. Native Mandarin speaker with professional proficiency in English and working-level proficiency in Cantonese.
Author of three Chinese novels: "Jinwan women tiaowu" （《今晚我们跳舞》，2006）；“Weilanse de gaobie”（《蔚蓝色的告别》,2010）；“Qin’ai de anna”（《亲爱的安娜》，2020）.Translator of Special Providence by Walter R.Mead (preprint). All of the works could be searched via Google and Baidu.
I have got a CTCSOL (Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) since January 2024 and began to teach Chinese online and on-site.

Being a native Mandarin speaker and published writer, I just got my CTCSOL (Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate, which helps me advance in the specific methodology of teaching (pronunciation, writing of Chinese characters, grammar), educational psychology and intercultural communications. As an author of three Chinese novels, I am also confident that my classes will be helpful to students who want to progress in creative writing. I am willing to teach both of students school age and adults who are interested in the Chinese language in a cultural perspective.
