About Lucas

Hello! My name is Lucas, and I’m a native French speaker with over six years of experience as a private tutor and academic coach. I hold degrees in three disciplines — Law, Literature, and Finance — from some of the world’s leading institutions: the Sorbonne, the University of Oxford (Magdalen College), and ESSEC Business School. This academic journey has shaped my structured, analytical approach to teaching, while giving me a deep appreciation for language, logic, and clarity. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students from some of the UK’s most prestigious schools as well as international learners preparing for competitive university applications and language exams. Alongside private tutoring, I run an education company based in France that specialises in international university preparation and elite academic support. This allows me to offer not just language tutoring, but real mentorship and academic guidance across disciplines. Above all, I believe education should be ambitious, structured, and empowering. Whether you’re aiming for an A* in A-Level French or looking to become more fluent and confident, I’m here to help you get there — with clarity, rigour, and encouragement.

About the lesson

My French lessons are structured, personalised, and results-driven — designed for students preparing for both GCSE and A-Level French. Every student follows a clear, tailored programme that I write myself, based on the official exam specifications. This ensures full coverage of grammar, vocabulary, written and oral skills, and exam technique. Whether you're aiming for a Grade 9 at GCSE or an A* at A-Level, we target exactly what matters. We work on a shared learning document that serves as a complete academic portfolio: grammar rules, essay plans, oral responses, corrected work, and vocabulary lists are updated and tracked week by week. I also write custom templates for essay introductions, paragraph structures, and oral answers, so that students can memorise and reuse high-impact phrasing in a natural way. Each lesson lasts 60 minutes and focuses on a specific objective: it could be mastering the subjunctive, improving essay structure, working on listening skills, or developing fluency through discussion. All materials — including past papers, listening activities, vocabulary packs, model essays, and revision sheets — are provided, and constantly updated based on the student’s progress.
