About Sasha

Hi, I'm a French native and polyglot tutor, I'm passionate with linguistics and making knowledge accessible regardless one's level and needs. I've worked as volunteer and paid tutor since 2015 in France (1year) and the UK (5years) teaching both children from age 7 to 12 and adults. French to English, English to French and English to Spanish as well as other scientific disciplines. I have worked with children with ADHD, ASD and adult with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Although I'm very academic with a classical education, I like to take a modern and interactive approach to my teaching since I believe we can have fun learning. My goal is to cater to my student needs and bring up their hidden abilities in an enthusiastic and encouraging manner. My academic background: I'm a Chemical Eng. — Biomedical graduate. I've studied Art History with French Literature before following a medical/scientific path. My early interest in literature has perfected my French marking AAA at the baccalaureat in French, History and Philosophy written/oral exams. I was lead student in Theatre, Debate, and Literature clubs amongst other school clubs I was involved in. I like to think myself as a generalist and add it to my teaching. About the lesson

I structure my lessons in modules following the academic needs, the personal or parental requests and customise the in-depth teaching based on each profile/language background. I encourage children to work in two times, lessons and exercises then interactive learning through conversations, games, and cultural teaching; making sure to have built or rebuilt solid foundations of the target language. To teach adults, I follow a structured programme based on their level. Encourage to learn the language through cultural perspective and cover each student language need of use (professional, academic...). Giving thought-provoking details to help feel the language as a native speaker. I emphasise a good pronunciation and speech to help the student feel comfortable. With the most passionate student I share my secret tips to adopt the target language mindset and the importance of understanding how the French/English think. I am a firm believer that a language is to be learned in context and manner proper to the native speakers.

Hello everyone! I'm a UCL undergraduate and I'm currently taking tutoring and support lessons with Sasha towards writing my essays in French. A uni friend recommended her to me. I'm really grateful as Sasha is very accomodating, she does her best to custom lessons to my needs and has proven herself very helpful to help with my writing skills. It's absolutely brilliant to have a tutor with an evident love for literature, she's given me many keys to add the subtle French touch to my writing that's earned me better grades! I'd also recommend her to anyone serious about learning the most beautiful language there is.

Thanks to my colleague I got in touch with Sasha while I was looking for a tutor to advance my conversational skills before I'd move to Paris.
Sasha has been a wonderful help in my French (re)learning. She managed to be patient and considering while challenging my knowledge. We had great inspiring talks about culture aspects of French and how ideas are differently conveyed, it helped me wrapped my head around the way native speakers communicate and has significantly improved my conversational skills while boosting my confidence.
