About Laureen

My name is Laureen, I am a 23 year old native German speaker (fluent in English and German) with an A* GCSE Higher German qualification. I've been teaching German privately since February 2021 and have helped my teachers with preparing my peers for their GCSE German exams in the past at my old secondary school. Thus, I have a total of 3+ years experience in supporting students in their German language studies. I am passionate in helping other people learn, while also growing with them. I am thrilled to help you achieve your German Language goals, whether it is for private use, such as going on holiday, to learn a new language or expand on your German speaking abilities, or if it is for academic/professional purposes. Whatever the reason is, we will focus on you achieving your highest potential with a learning approach and plan that suits you!

About the lesson

Want to learn German as a new learner or want to improve your German speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities? Then you are in the perfect position to commence your German learning journey or level up your German abilities with me as your tutor and support system! My lessons are for beginners/entry level, intermediates and advanced learners of any age. Lessons are based on reading, writing, listening and speaking tasks as well as giving you the opportunity to choose what you would like to learn. It's crucial for me to personalise your study time to what you want to focus on, the ways through which you learn best, and what your goals are. While understanding your current German language knowledge and level to maximise your potential through creating a tailored study plan. I am flexible in my approach which means that I am more than happy to help you with your speaking, reading, writing and listening abilities in any order that you like. For example; when there is something in particular that you want to focus on then we will do that until you're happy. I also offer support with homework tasks and extra exam preparations as part of my tuition. For exam based learning I refer to official specifications, materials and resources from the Exam boards to ensure the best chances for you to achieve the highest grades possible, as well as relying on my own and other students' experiences to aid you in thriving in your learning process. The way I tutor is to cater to your personal needs. Thus, every lesson plan and session will be specific and therefore is able to change so that we can get the very best out for you while you have fun. My usual lessons range from 30 minutes to an hour or 1 hour 30 minutes, however this can be altered to your needs and can take place either in person (preferably in a public place) or online via Zoom/WhatsApp Video calls. I charge £12.50 per hour, for both, online and in person tuition. Are you ready to flourish in your German language abilities?
