About Layla

Hi everyone!

I am Layla, an Italian student and recent Cambridge graduate.

Italian is my mother tongue, and possibly one of the most beautiful and romantic languages in the world. In school, I have dedicated many hours a week to the study of Italian grammar and syntax, essay writing, and Italian literature. I have always excelled at these subjects and, most importantly, I have found them incredibly rewarding to learn about and share with others.

I have often helped friends who were struggling with their literature tests and assignments, with great results, and I have helped my non-native friends who were studying Italian by practising conversation and teaching them grammar basics. I have, as such, found to not only enjoy teaching and tutoring, but also find it enjoyable and rewarding.

I am qualified to tutor not only because of my academic achievements, but also because I am a very patient and understanding person who genuinely loves to guide people through their potential difficulties and reach better results together with them. I believe improvement is always possible and everyone can reach a good level of fluency and knowledge, with the right help.

When it comes to modern language learning, there are no bad students, just learners with different needs and methods. So, if you are thinking of giving Italian a try, you will find a competent yet understanding tutor in me!

About the lesson

If you have decided to start learning Italian, or if you need extra help with your Italian homework, you are in the right place!

My language lessons will be about an hour long, to ensure maximum focus and efficiency; they will be tailored to your individual needs and knowledge levels. I like to keep lessons interesting and fun, with plenty of extra material and engaging ways to learn the language (like stories, comics, and songs).

I can also prepare and deliver lessons on Italian literature (from the Middle Ages to modern times), with theoretical information and textual examples.

The language and literature lessons are suitable for all levels, including GCSEs and A-levels, as well as preparation for CILS, CELI and other official certificates.
