About Lucia

I am a native Italian teacher with over 30 years of experience in education. I began my career in Italy as a qualified secondary school teacher of English and later passed the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs exam in Rome, which certifies teachers to work abroad. Since 2006, I have been teaching Italian in Oxford, working with students of all ages and levels. I love teaching because it allows me to share not only the beauty of the Italian language but also the richness of our culture, literature, and traditions. I particularly enjoy supporting students in preparing for GCSE, A-Level, and IB exams, guiding them with patience, structure, and encouragement. For me, teaching is a way to connect meaningfully with people and to support their growth with both knowledge and confidence. It is not just a profession, but a lifelong passion.

About the lesson

I hold a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from an Italian university and qualified as a secondary school teacher in Italy. I also passed the official written and oral examination at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, which is required to teach Italian abroad through official channels. Since 2006, I have been teaching Italian in Oxford, working with learners of all levels and ages. I specialise in exam preparation for GCSE, A-Level, and IB (SL & HL) students, offering personalised and structured lessons that focus on grammar, speaking, writing, listening, and reading comprehension. I mainly teach online via Zoom, Skype - Teams or Google Meet, but I am also available to travel to the student’s home in the Oxford area, depending on location and availability. My teaching style is calm, supportive, and tailored to each student’s pace, interests, and learning goals. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals in Italian—with clarity, confidence, and joy in the learning process!

Lesson Prices: £25/hour – GCSE preparation or beginner/intermediate students £30/hour – A-Level or IB preparation Special rates for regular weekly lessons or small groups (upon request) First lesson (30 minutes): FREE – to discuss goals and create a personalised plan. Discounted rate (£25/h) available for GCSE students or beginners. All materials and optional homework included.
