About Rina

こんにちは(Konnichiwa)! My name is Rina and I am a native Japanese speaker from Hokkaido. I studied economics at a university in Hokkaido and have been living in Perth for almost three years now. Before coming to Perth, I lived and studied in the US for two semesters, giving me an understanding of the challenges of language learning. While I do not have any formal teaching experience, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of Japanese language and culture with others.

I am excited to embark on this tutoring journey with you.

If you're already studying Japanese but looking for some extra help, I'm happy to help you with any homework or assignments you may have. If you want to practice having conversations in Japanese, I'm happy to be your conversation partner. Or if you're still a beginner and need to be taught in English, that's perfectly fine as well!
I believe in building confidence in my students so that they feel comfortable using Japanese in real-life situations. I can also teach you Japanese slang words if you would like.

In my lesson, we can use study materials such as:
- Material that I created
- Hiragana quiz
- Katakana quiz
- Travel conversation
- Hiragana/ Katakana charts
- Textbook
- Irodori starter
- Irodori Elementary 1
- Irodori Elementary 2
- Any other materials that students provide, such as their Japanese assignment from school

I mainly take online classes, but if you prefer meeting in person, we can meet in a cafe in Perth city.
And in that case I will be charging a public transportation fee in addition to the lesson fee (This includes the first free trial class).
