About Luis

I'm a TEFL-certified English teacher with three years of teaching and tutoring experience across both Ecuador and Canada. My unique background—born in Ecuador and raised in Canada—gives me native-level fluency in both English and Spanish, and a deep understanding of what it takes to bridge two cultures and languages. Beyond teaching, I work as a Construction Site Superintendent, where I lead bilingual teams daily and communicate across all levels—from on-site workers to corporate stakeholders. This real-world experience gives me practical insight into professional communication, workplace dynamics, and the language skills that actually matter in your career. I've worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them not just learn English, but use it confidently in real-world situations. Whether it's preparing for a job interview, improving pronunciation, or mastering test strategies, I'm passionate about helping students achieve their specific goals. Teaching isn't just about language for me—it's about opening doors. I know firsthand how powerful clear communication can be in building your career and confidence. My approach is patient, adaptable, and focused on what YOU need to succeed. Looking forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I design every session around YOUR specific goals—whether that's landing your dream job, acing the IELTS, or speaking confidently in professional settings.
What Makes My Teaching Different:

100% Customized: We assess your current level and goals, then build a personalized roadmap
Practical, Not Theoretical: Practice real interview questions, refine your actual resume, and rehearse workplace conversations—no endless grammar drills
Cultural Bridge: Born in Ecuador, raised in Canada, with native-level fluency in both English and Spanish. I understand the challenges of navigating North American professional culture from a Latin American perspective
Industry-Specific: We'll tailor vocabulary and scenarios to your field, whether that's medical, tech, business, or beyond

What We'll Work On:
Mock interviews with detailed feedback, accent neutralization for clearer communication, resume and cover letter review, and IELTS/TOEFL test strategy and practice.
Who This Is For:
High school students and above, beginner to intermediate level. Whether you're entering the job market or you're already confident but want to polish your accent or master industry-specific language, I can help.
Let's use English as a tool for your success.
