About Khoi

Hi everyone! I’m Khôi.

To give you the "icebreaker" version of my life: I’m a student at RMIT, originally from Hanoi, and I’ve had a bit of a whirlwind journey to get here—including a year studying in Canada before landing in Melbourne.

When I’m not hitting the books, you’ll usually find me deep in the world of content creation and video editing. I’m a huge fan of the creative process, whether it’s planning a stream or experimenting with C41 film photography. I also have a bit of a "finance brain"—I’m pretty obsessed with following the markets and trading crypto.

If you ever want to talk about the best spots for photography in the city, the latest market trends, or if you just want to grab a round of golf, I’m your guy! Happy to be here and meet you all.

About the lesson

My Teaching Methodology and Approach
My approach to teaching Vietnamese is rooted in the "Communicative Language Teaching" (CLT) method. I believe that language is a tool for connection, so I prioritize practical conversation and tonal accuracy from day one. I utilize real-world materials—such as Vietnamese news, music, and social media trends—to move beyond repetitive textbook phrases and into authentic fluency.

For students focusing on professional or academic goals, I apply my background in Professional Communication to teach formal registers and nuances. I act as a dedicated mentor, providing structured feedback and clear explanations in both English and Vietnamese to ensure no concept remains "lost in translation."

Lesson Structure and Length
Duration: Standard sessions are 60 to 90 minutes, allowing enough time for review, new material, and active speaking practice.

Format: We begin with a brief conversational warm-up, followed by a core grammar or vocabulary pillar, and conclude with a situational role-play to cement the learning.

Qualifications and Experience
As a native speaker born in Hanoi and a current student at RMIT University, I bridge the gap between cultural authenticity and academic rigor. My 7.5 IELTS score demonstrates my deep understanding of the language acquisition process, allowing me to explain Vietnamese linguistics through a lens that English speakers can easily grasp.
