About Danai

I am a DBS checked student studying A-level Biology, Chemistry and Art. I’ve spent over 2 years as an assistant in theatre lessons and as a summer camp leader and I currently teach tennis to children from ages 5-13. These experiences have allowed me to work alongside and aid the growth of children from all backgrounds and abilities, shaping my teaching methods and diversifying my approach. I believe that learning is in the hands of students. I am here to provide key skills, methods and techniques to aid their journey through GCSEs and further education. Our first session will allow me to gauge a student’s preferred learning method and to develop a learning plan alongside them for future sessions. I aim to spend half of each session evaluating consolidatory work that was set after previous sessions and covering content, then spend the second half on practice questions and providing different exam and revision techniques for the student to experiment with. I have a flexible schedule and welcome students who wish for 3 one-off sessions to students who wish for 2 sessions per week. Here to fit students' educational needs, I respond well to feedback and wish to develop my lessons each time to be optimum for their learning style.

About the lesson

‘Aim for the stars, and you might land on the moon’ -Buzz Aldrin This quote presents my approach as both a student and a teacher. My lessons are designed to include effective revision techniques and valuable exam strategy advice aimed at improving student confidence in lesson and the exam hall. I consistently refer to the exam board's specification to ensure clarity in content delivery and aim to dedicate half of each session to exam questions. Following our lessons, I will assign consolidatory work and provide references to helpful resources. I will also mark your completed questions and provide constructive feedback on strengths and areas for improvement in our next session. Together, we can enhance your learning experience and achieve your academic goals whether they are to pass or to achieve a grade 9.
