About Shirley
Structure matters more than raw speed when you are mastering lead guitar. You might find that limiting your practice to 20 minutes yields better results than grinding for 2 hours.
I help you navigate scales, modes, and blues progressions with clarity. We will cover rhythm guitar, fingerpicking, and reading tabs. I use a monthly recorded review of progress to keep our goals visible. My Humber College training informs how I teach improvisation and acoustic technique.
Electric technique requires a specific touch that we will refine. You will leave every session with a clear directive. My process is simple.

Learning an instrument often feels like climbing a mountain without a map. I try to be the guide who keeps the pace steady and the focus clear. After 13 years of performing folk and classical music, I shifted my energy toward helping hobbyists and self-taught players.
My background includes a Bachelor of Music from Humber College and RCM Grade 10 training. I work with kids, advanced learners, and those preparing for grade exams. My approach remains sensitive to how each individual processes information. I ensure that you feel supported rather than pressured during our time together.
