About Liam

Hi, I'm Liam, a Year 11 student with a strong passion for Math, Engineering, Physics and problem-solving. I am currently studying Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Engineering, Physics, Design and English, and I have achieved an interim ATAR of 94.5.

As someone with ADHD, I understand that not everyone learns in the same way. Throughout my own education, I've developed strategies to break down complex concepts, stay engaged, and approach challenging problems step by step. This helps me explain Math in ways that are clear, practical and easy to follow.

Outside of school, I'm a competitive sports climber and a keen gamer. Both activities have taught me the importance of persistence, patience and continuous improvement. I bring these same qualities to my tutoring sessions, helping students build confidence and develop their problem-solving skills at their own pace.

While I am new to professional tutoring, I regularly help classmates understand difficult mathematical concepts and work through challenging problems. Being a current high school student also means I have recent experience with the curriculum and understand the challenges students face in today's classrooms.

I aim to create a friendly, supportive online learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building their confidence. My goal isn't just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand how they got there.

I welcome students from primary school through to Year 10 who are looking to strengthen their Math skills, improve their confidence, or receive support from a tutor who understands diverse learning styles.

My approach to tutoring is centred on understanding, confidence, and practical problem-solving. As a high-achieving Year 11 student with an interim ATAR of 94.5 studying advanced Mathematics and Engineering, I know that every student learns differently. Being neurodivergent myself, I understand that traditional teaching methods don't work for everyone, so I adapt my explanations to suit each student's learning style.

In my online lessons, I focus on helping students understand the "why" behind mathematical concepts rather than simply memorising formulas. I break complex topics into manageable steps, use visual explanations where helpful, and encourage students to ask questions in a supportive, judgement-free environment.

A typical lesson runs for 30-45 minutes and may include:

Reviewing schoolwork or homework
Explaining difficult concepts in a clear, structured way
Working through example problems together
Developing problem-solving strategies
Building confidence and exam preparation skills

While I am beginning my tutoring journey, I have consistently achieved strong results in Mathematics and Engineering and regularly assist classmates with challenging concepts. My recent experience learning the current curriculum helps me explain topics in a way that is relevant and easy to understand.

My lessons are ideal for:

Primary school students
Students in Years 7-10 Mathematics
Neurodivergent students looking for a tutor who understands different ways of learning
Students who want to improve their confidence, grades, or study skills in Maths

My goal is to make Maths feel more approachable and help students develop the confidence to tackle problems independently.
