About Alyssa

I am going into my junior year at Emory University as a Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology major on the pre-med track. I am very familiar with the college application process and can help a student apply greatly as I have been in their position myself recently. I can help with anything from college advising, building a list of schools, and filling out the common application, to helping prepare for standardized testing. I have dedicated my undergraduate years to mastering the sciences such as organic chemistry, biology, and neuroscience and have always excelled in mathematics.

Outside of my academic life, I have worked and shadowed doctors, in high school I founded a non-profit organization, and have been the Vice President of Panhellenic Relations of my sorority. I have two younger siblings who I have helped with homework my entire life. I also love movies, reading, and art.

About the lesson

Practice problem-driven tutoring sessions. Will review any homework or problems done before, going through them step by step, giving students an overview of underlying concepts if necessary. Emphasis on active learning and doing work instead of being lectured.

- highschool students: college admission advice/ guidance (making a list of schools, brainstorming essay topics, standardized testing tutoring), biology, chemistry, math (algebra, precalc, calc)

I attend a top university as a Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology major on the pre-med track and I have done extensive research on what studying methods actually work for long-term study gains.
