About Vidar
I have a master's degree in Performing Nordic Folk Music from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. I make a living through performing and teaching Nordic/Scandinavian and Norwegian traditional fiddle music. I have toured throughout my life, solo and with various bands and projects, and recorded several albums. I have been teaching students and workshops since I was 16, and it’s something I love, to help and enable both hobby musicians and professionals to enjoy the instrument and the music as I do.

I teach Norwegian Hardanger Fiddle and Scandinavian fiddle (violin). Scandinavian involves Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, and Danish traditions. The style and music also transfer to other instruments.
I work through learning by ear, while also providing audio files and sheet music to support the learning. I focus on technique, style, and how to adopt and integrate both the music and the instrument with the student.
I also play guitar and mandolin and can teach Nordic/Scandinavian music specifically for those instruments as well.

Details
$60 is my standard for an hour. I recommend lessons between 40-60 minutes. The rates would be $40 for 40 minutes and $60 for 60 minutes, and so on. I can be flexible on the rate to meet a budget if needed. Tips are also always appreciated.
