About Sydney
I am a Nuclear Environmental Engineer, working for the UK's biggest engineering consultancy. I have a BSc (Hons) in Geoscience from Durham University and a Masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. I have previous tutoring experience, having also taught in a primary school on a placement programme while at university. I am a humanist, I love to have conversation(s) and am eager to improve and make my pupils better in their chosen area.

My teaching method is person-centred and depends on what the student(s) or the best way I believe will help the student(s) understand and achieve overall assimilation of material. I, however, in most of my lessons incorporate a mixture of visualisation and practical learning experience as this will help the pupils understand how the materials they are being taught apply in the real world. I also quite often in my lessons allow the students to think for themselves as I believe in giving the pupils the opportunity to think for themselves and investigate their own ideas as it helps in improving their problem-solving skills. Finally, all my lessons end with a recap and a quiz, which helps me to identify where knowledge is lacking and where I need to spend more time next time.
