About Theo

I recently graduated from New York University with a BA in Economics and International Relations, finishing magna cum laude with honors. My coursework was both quantitative and analytical, spanning microeconomics, statistics, political theory, and global development, and I completed an honors thesis using statistical modeling in R. In high school, I earned the maximum score of 5 on the AP Comparative Government, AP Human Geography, and AP Psychology exams, so I know these subjects from the student's side of the table as well as the tutor's. This lets me help across a wide range of math and social science topics, from algebra, geometry, and statistics to economics, government, geography, and psychology, along with SAT preparation that builds both content knowledge and test-taking strategy.

About the lesson

I have experience working with middle and high school students of different ability levels, tutoring one on one and tailoring each lesson to the individual. I know math and social studies can feel intimidating, so I focus on breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps and connecting them to real examples that make the material click. My approach is patient, organized, and goal oriented. I start by understanding what a student wants to achieve, whether catching up, staying ahead, or preparing for an exam, then build a plan around their pace and learning style. My goal is for students to leave each lesson not only with the right answers but with the confidence to reach them on their own.
