About Semi
Hi, I’m Semi! I’m currently studying Drawing & Painting at OCAD University. In 2025, I was accepted to several art schools and programs, including OCAD University for Drawing & Painting, Emily Carr University for Illustration, Parsons School of Design for Illustration, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). I was also awarded a $76,000 scholarship from SAIC and a $5,000 scholarship from OCAD University.
Through my own experience preparing art school portfolios, I learned that strong art is not simply about copying an image or drawing realistically. I believe creativity starts with developing your own ideas, experimenting, and finding interesting ways to express them visually.
As a tutor, I want to help students build strong drawing and painting skills while also learning how to brainstorm, develop original concepts, and create artwork that feels personal and unique. Whether a student simply loves making art or wants to prepare an art school portfolio in the future, I want to help them become more confident in their own creativity.

I want my art lessons to be a fun and comfortable space where students can be creative and enjoy making art. Instead of only teaching how to draw something “correctly,” I help students come up with their own ideas, develop their imagination, and find different ways to express themselves through drawing and painting.
A typical lesson can include brainstorming together, sketching ideas, learning new drawing or painting techniques, experimenting with different materials, and developing the artwork step by step. I like to adjust each lesson depending on the student’s age, interests, and skill level.
As an OCAD Fine Arts student, I can share both practical art techniques and the creative process I use when developing my own work. I can also help older students develop stronger ideas and prepare or improve their art portfolios.
My lessons are for kids and teens of all skill levels, from complete beginners who simply love art to students who want to develop their skills or prepare for art school.
