About Bakulin
Leonid Bakulin was born in Moscow. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and completed postgraduate studies in double bass performance. From 2004 to 2008, he was a member of the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Pletnev. From 2008 to 2010, he served as Associate Principal Double Bass of the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra. From 2011 to 2018, he held the position of Principal Double Bass with the MusicAeterna orchestra under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. From 2019 to 2021, he was Principal Double Bass of the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov. Since 2021, he has been a faculty member at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Leonid Bakulin has performed at the Salzburg Festival, Lucerne Festival, BBC Proms, and other leading music festivals across Europe. He appears regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer with various Russian and European ensembles. His artistic interests include both historically informed performance and contemporary classical music.

Leonid Bakulin was born in Moscow.
