About Hannah

Hi! I'm Hannah, a fully qualified primary teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring children aged 5 to 11. I’ve worked both in the classroom and as a private tutor, and for the past six years, I’ve been helping students thrive through tailored one-to-one and small group tutoring — both in person and online. Teaching has always been more than just a job to me. I love helping children build confidence, develop a real understanding of key concepts, and discover joy in their learning. I’m passionate about making each lesson engaging, meaningful and suited to the individual child. Whether a student is struggling and needs extra support or is aiming for high achievement in the 11+, I offer patient, personalised and enthusiastic teaching that meets them exactly where they are. Parents often describe me as approachable, creative and encouraging, and I pride myself on building strong relationships with both students and families. About the lesson

I am a qualified primary teacher with QTS and a BA (Hons) in Primary Education, and I bring over 10 years of teaching experience across the primary age range, including six years of private tutoring both in-person and online. I specialise in working with children aged 5–11 and offer support in English, maths, and 11+ preparation for all kinds of learners — whether they’re struggling with confidence, need a boost in core skills, or are aiming high for selective school entry. My tutoring style is creative, engaging and highly personalised. I take time to get to know each child’s interests, learning style and confidence level, and I tailor every session to suit their unique needs. Online tutoring doesn’t have to be boring — my lessons are interactive and fun, often involving games, visuals, and tailored worksheets to keep students motivated and focused. I build strong relationships with my students and aim to create a supportive environment where they feel safe to try, make mistakes, and grow. Each session typically follows a structure of warm-up, focused teaching input, independent task and a short review. I offer 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions via Zoom and use a variety of formative assessment techniques — including questioning, activities and mini-assessments — to track progress and inform next steps. I’m always happy to have a brief chat with parents after each session to share feedback and suggestions.
