About Iyanu
Being a tutor means to guide and not dictate. It means to listen to the hopes and dreams of students and work with them - for them - to help manifest their goals. Being a tutor means to dedicate time and energy into every student, learning about their current challenges in school and giving advice on what to do. Being a tutor requires resilience and perseverance, understanding that a rapport needs to be built before progress can follow. Perhaps overall, being a tutor requires respect to the student. To understand that the tutor is not on a high pedestal but on the same pedestal as their student; a good tutor would not look down on their student but instead offer that extra support, encouragement and advice where required. These are the skills I have that makes me believe that I am a good tutor.
