About Barbara
My tutoring career is just beginning, but I have had a wealth of full-time teaching. I started my career in the Transition Years (grades 7/8), taught in the Junior Division (grades 4,5,6) for 15 years & in the Primary Division (grades 1,2,3) for the final 5 years of my career. I particularly enjoy teaching reading, writing, & oral communication skills. Media studies & visual arts are strong points. Teaching ESL students is an interesting challenge that I particularly enjoy.

Do you want to enjoy learning with one-on-one assistance? Yes, learning CAN be fun! I have a current Ontario College of Teachers Certification, that qualifies me to teach in all grades 1-8. Most of my career was spent teaching grades 1-6, until I retired this past June. Reading, writing, media studies, science, social studies, and early years French, are my strong points. Throughout my career, I have had a good many ESL, and autistic students, who required extra TLC in my classes. I’m really looking forward to this next chapter of my teaching career!
