About Lauren
I graduated from the Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant Diploma program from Durham College in 2017 and bridged into second year of the Bachelor of Health Science Kinesiology Program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). I am going into third year of university and work as a Program Facilitator for CCRW running their new SOAR program for teens with autism. It is a pre-employment program that myself and the Program Coordinator are running to help special needs teens reach their future goals and become professional individuals. I educate my students on health and well being so that they can be successful in the future and make healthier choices for themselves. I also worked as a camp facilitator/coordinator for Nova's Ark during their summer camp program last year, working with a variety of individuals. Part-time I also do respite therapy with an 11-year old girl. I am very dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and hold compassion for putting your well being as a top priority. I want to be able to teach what I know about health and well being so that other individuals can be motivated and inspired to do the same.

My teaching methods are very structured and organized. I go into teaching with a plan of how I want to introduce the topic/subject I am teaching and ease my way into things so that my client's get the most out of it. I make sure the individuals I am teaching understand and gain knowledge that they didn't have before by grading the material in a way they learn best (ie. written, verbal, hands-on, etc). My teaching methodology is to accommodate for the clients needs so that they are getting the most out of the information being taught to them.

Details
I have extensive experience with individuals with special needs, including fetal alcohol syndrome disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Developmental Delay/learning disabilities, physical disabilities etc. and have my CPI training. In this case I will be charging $30.00/hour for tutoring clients with a variety of special needs and/or physical limitations.
